Ron Robertson Swann - sculptor
The exhibition "The Joy of Colour" held at the Janet Clayton Gallery in August 2015 featured individual as well as joint paintings by Ron Robertson-Swann and Ayako Saito. "From both sides now" , an individual painting by Ron, was purchased. A work by Ayako is already held in the collection. All the joint works that appealed carried red stickers.
I purchased a decorated plate For Monet and Matisse by Ron at a fundraiser held by the National Art School in 2007. However sometime later, while staying with me, Ron discovered that the plate For Monet and Matisse had broken on the trip from Sydney to the South Coast (the body was low fired and fragile) he insisted on making a new plate for me – this is the result.
